The rose garden is actualy the most important of this part of Normandy : 2600 roses. It occupies 2 different areas, one consecrated to the hisyory of roses, from the first botanical spiecies to the latest European novelties, the other to perfume (roses which enter into the composition of renowned perfumes such as channel N°5, and the most scented roses).
All the roses are labeled. Considered by the rose gardens of L'Hay as a rose conservatory, the roses benifit from the support of the great rose growers of Europe, who each year send their latest specimens, even before they are sold through the catalogues. This allows the public the chance to view and contemplate roses which will only be one sale several months later.
