Park and Gardens of the Champ de Bataille Castle : Jean de la Varende wrote about the Champ de Bataille: ”Magnitude reigns here. The scenery comes in only after the declaration of power.” This idea guided Jacques Garcia when he recreated from almost nothing the gardens that must have been sumptuous but that had been completely erased by time.
Rejecting the idea of an anachronic reconstitution of French gardens in the style of the Grand Siècle, Jacques Garcia had from the start decided upon a contemporary work drawing from the antique source. Today's inspiration in forms of eternity: this has been the driving force of a strictly contemporary park, grown in the space of a classic structure.
