Description
The Vicar's Garden of the Country-Life -Museum of Usson en Forez.
The Country-Life-Museum's garden is a vicar's garden of 240 square meters, recreated in 2001 with "Autre Nature" landscapers, based on old photographs and eyewitnesses at the spot where the kitchen garden of the Congregation of Saint Joseph's nuns once was.
More than hundred plants, chosen for their resistance (1000 meters of altitude), can be seen in eight spaces partitioned by small box rows: two of them hold simples and aromatic plants, two more are the vegetable patch. The four middle plantations mix vegetal families: annual flowers, ornamental plants (for the church)...
Three awards in 2005: prize of the magazine "Rustica", awards for soft tourism and environment.
2006 the garden was nominated "Remarkable Garden".
