Description
Park and garden have been created on an island of 1 ha, around the mill with its large wooden wheel, its over 50 m long dam of hewn stones, its waterfall and pond.
The tour takes you on a pontoon across the river and a stone bridge across the mill canal. Later on you will find a dove house, bread ovens, flowerbeds and ponds. A footbridge crosses one of these, from where you can see the mirror image of the wheel in motion. Some almost centenary poplars are standing between fruit trees and ornamental bushes, offering the shade that, together with the sound of running water, gives a dreamy serenity to the site. Jonquils and tulips, roses, iris, acanthi, dahlias, verbena, brooms, arums and other flowers give the park a differently coloured image according to the season.
Cocussotte Mill has been awarded in 2008 a first prize for the operation "Flowering France" by the Lot and Garonne regional council.
