Park and Gardens Of the Château d'Auvers
Description
Léry Castle, later renamed Auvers Castle, was built in 1635 by an Italian, Zanoby Liony, who had come to France following Marie de Medici, as so many of his compatriots.
Its terrace gardens offer box-embroidered flower beds, a maze of hedges, an Iris collection, an orangery, a gazebo, and a very beautiful nympheum, a cool grotto, its walls entirely decorated with shells, millstone pebbles and glass shards.
Auvers-sur-Oise Castle hosts the show circuit "Voyage to the Time of Impressionism".. Follow the guide and relive the "Belle époque of Impressionism".
The Castle and the Park are filed today on the Supplement Inventory of Historic Monuments.
