Description
The park : the English style park was created in the 18th century under the influence of Rousseau’s ideas. Its terrace has a fountain of the early 18th century, with a basin hewn in one block of Vosges sandstone, and stairs with a double opening. Another remarkable feature is the impressive plane avenue.
The castle : origins: a roman watch tower from 50 before JC, in the following 12 centuries a fortified camp. From the 12th century on a castle, it was modified during the Renaissance (gables) and during the 18th century (opening of windows). In the 19th century the stone bridge was built and the keep reconstructed.
Created in : 1817, Surface : 3 hectares
