Gardens Of Barbirey Castle

Qualified as a "Jardin Remarquable" in 2004, this 19th century landscape garden extends over 8 hectares of the Ouche valley. "Recreated" since 1989, beautiful views combine in a harmonious interaction between garden, landscape and village. The superb terraced kitchen garden, the orchard, natural meadow, lake and undergrowth form a highly diverse collection of atmospheres and biotopes.
The château, constructed around its inner courtyard, has preserved its 17th and 18th century service quarters. With its mixture of past and present, this site, full of life, combines both nature and culture with events and festival.

• Opening 2012 :
  From April 30 th at May 31 th: Saturday, Sunday and public holidays from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m.
  June at August: every day, from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m., except Monday (closed).
  September and October: Saturday, Sunday and public holidays, from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m.. Visit for groups (+ 10 people), free or guided, during all the year, on go.

  Unguided visits.
  Guided visits with previous booking, Duration of a guided visit : 1h à 1h30, Minimal number of persons for a guided visit : 10.
  Access partially adapted for disabled persons.
  
• Charges :
  Individual : Adults: 6 euros. Children from 3 to 12 years old: 2 euros.
  Exemption from payment up to 3 years.
  Groups (+ 10 people) :
  4 euros/person, with free visits; 7 euros/person for the guided tours.
  the visit included the totality of the 8 hectares of the park, a plan of the park, the access to the exposures, the access to the different thematic courses.

  the Gardens are located at 25 kms of Dijon, Beaune and "Pouilly en Auxois", 250 kms of Paris.
  To come by car from Paris : to take A6 Lyon direction, to leave in "Pouilly en auxois" and to take A38 in direction of Dijon, to take the exit n° 30 "pont de Pany" and to follow during 8 kms the panels "les jardins de Barbirey".
  Train: 1h30 should be envisaged by TGV, starting from Paris.
  To come by car from Dijon: to take A38 direction "Pouilly en Auxois" - Paris, to take the exit n° 30 "Pont de Pany" and to follow during 8 kms the panels "les jardins de Barbirey".
