Description
Built on a hill of earth in the Middle Ages, the garden of the Motte is placed in the heart of the old Mauguio, town built in circulared streets around the garden.
In 1904, the garden keeps in his summit the first water tower, built to bring water fot the will and the fountains of the village.
Since this year, it became a public garden, imagined on the model of the park of Buttes-Chaumont in Paris. Its alleys are lined with mediterranean trees and exotic species : quince trees of Japan, trees of Judea, chamerops palm trees.
Place the expression of the public power, renowed by the wine-growing wealth, it crystallized the Maugio's identity since more 1000 years.
